September 2010, California: ClearSky CEO Keegan Eisenstadt has been invited to participate in a great advocacy event this fall, Climate Ride California. Climate Ride is about fundraising for climate solutions, education about climate change issues, and having a great time on a bicycle. Keegan will be fundrasing for local Montana nonprofits and speaking about carbon markets and climate solutions. July 2010, Geneva Switzerland: ClearSky Project Developer Stephen Handler will be the "Expert of the Day" for the United Nations Environment Programme! Stephen will answer questions on July 8, 2010, focusing on the question: "How and why should businesses act to mitigate global climate change?" Be sure to check in to the UNEP home page on the 8th, and feel free to ask a question!


June 2010, Portland OR: The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) has published Molly White's article on understanding carbon offsets. Molly does a great job explaining the huge variety of project types, standards, markets, and registries that currently exist, and we think her article is a great resource for anyone who's interested to purchase carbon offsets or just to learn more. June 2010, Washington DC and Cambodia: ClearSky has been contracted by PACT International, an international community development NGO, to help formulate the organization's REDD strategy. REDD, or Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation, is an increasingly important topic in developing countries, where forest-dwelling communities need to be educated and empowered to design forest protection projects that truly provide local benefits. May 2010, Flagstaff AZ: ClearSky Project Developer Stephen Handler will be delivering a presentation for small businesses in Northern Arizona on May 13, 2010. His talk, titled "What is your carbon footprint and why does that matter?" is being sponsored by the Northern Arizona Center for Emerging Technologies, the Arizona Small Business Development Center, and SCORE. May 2010, Missoula MT: ClearSky has formed a cooperative partnership with local firm Sustainable Building Systems (SBS) to share the strengths of each firm. SBS is going to host the ClearSky Carbon Footprint Calculator on their website, in order to get this tool in front of as many interested eyes as possible. Also, SBS will be able to offer their clients the option to go climate-neutral with ClearSky - after reducing their carbon footprint as much as possible through SBS' comprehensive energy efficiency alternatives. April 2010, Monterrey CA: ClearSky Project Developer Molly White will be presenting at the Monterrey Institute for International Studies on April 26th, 2010. This is the second year in a row that ClearSky has been invited to MIIS to present on climate change and conservation issues, and more details about Molly's talk will be posted as they become available. Stay tuned for more!


April 2010, Mt. Vernon IA: ClearSky Project Developer Stephen Handler traveled to the heartland to deliver a series of talks at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. Fittingly, his talks on Earth Day 2010 covered global warming, carbon markets, and carbon offset projects. Cornell College's Berry Center hosted Stephen, and they have created this webpage to summarize the visit. It was a great time in the heartland!


March 2010, Silver Falls State Park OR: ClearSky is heading to the Silver Falls Conference Center in Oregon to present at a workshop entitled "Forging the Carbon Offset Supply Chain in Oregon." This workshop, hosted by Ecosystem Services, LLC is designed to bring together state agencies, landowners, and carbon market experts in order to build greater capacity to create carbon offset projects in the state of Oregon. ClearSky CEO Keegan Eisenstadt and Project Developer Molly White will present on the basics of the carbon market and the issue of aggregating multiple small forest landowners together into a single offset project.


February 2010, Corvalis MT: Huls Dairy, a small dairy in western Montana, as been named one of seventy-five (75) Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners competing for the national U.S. Chamber of Commerce "Dream Big Award"! February 2010, Tunisia Africa: ClearSky was excited to submit 2 separate proposals to the Congo Basin Forest Fund, a multi-donor fund organized to halt deforestation and reduce poverty in the Congo Basin. We strongly believe that well-designed forest protect and improved forest management projects can accomplish these goals, and we're ready to get to work!


February 2010, Phoenix AZ: ClearSky project developer Stephen Handler will be attending this year's Electric Utilities and Environment Conference, the largest environmental conference for the energy industry. Stephen is presenting on the opportunities for energy companies to capitalize on carbon sequestration projects on their own lands.

January 2010, Missoula MT: Keegan Eisenstadt has been invited to speak at this month's Missoula City Club Forum: What Cap and Trade Means to Missoula and the World. Keegan will share his insights from last month's UN meetings in Copenhagen, as well as the basic elements of the cap and trade mechanism as it could be applied to limit national greenhouse gas emissions.
